I got this email from someone at work. Pretty cool

Quote
Have a history teacher explain this----- if they can.

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday
Both Presidents were shot in the head

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln .

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln , was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln , was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who ass assinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford.'
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln ' made by 'Ford.'

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials .

And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe , Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe

Title: Re: Funny interweb articles

yes but small nice steak + salad > salad*infinity

i'm not saying no to vegetables - just pointing out that meat is important...

hungry now...

but small steak and still hungry < loads a salad and full
Title: Re: Funny interweb articles
Post by: nic elf on September 08, 2008, 01:27:14 PM
The steak relation equation:

yes but small nice steak + salad > salad*infinity

i'm not saying no to vegetables - just pointing out that meat is important...

hungry now...

 then:

Steak > salad*infinity - salad

so you can ignore the single salad.

Also - according to this, if salad had ANY value then it would be greater than steak....

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/11/18/bnp_loses_list/

The British National Party has lost its membership list - the whole thing has been published online.

The list includes names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of all members up to September 2008. It also includes some people's ages, especially those under 18 - the BNP offers family membership for £40. Many entries also contain more personal comments about jobs or hobbies. That's how we know that that BNP members include receptionists, district nurses, amateur historians, pagans, line dancers and a male witch.

Members have unsurprisingly reacted with outrage. One commenter said: "I'm also on the list, what the f#ck is going on? I could lose my job." Another: "The most shocking thing is some of the comments by the names! God help anyone who is in the army, the pison [sic] service, health care, police officer or a teacher." Several professions in the UK are expected to refrain from party political activities. More outraged racists rightwingers here.

Various senior BNP figures are being blamed on blogs for the leak.

A spokesman for the BNP was unaware of the leak but said: "It wouldn't surprise me if someone has done this, but they'll be in trouble, not just under the Data Protection Act but also for contempt of court - there's an ongoing court case."

UKIP recently rejected overtures from the BNP suggesting an electoral pact. Meanwhile, UKIP's most famous ex-member, Robert Kilroy Silk is currently disporting himself on I'm a Celebrity...while collecting his MEP salary of course.

rather funny seeing some of their outcries about losing their jobs etc...

From email:

This is a bricklayer's accident report, which was printed in the newsletter of the Australian equivalent of the Workers' Compensation Board. This is a true story.
Had this guy died, he'd probably have received a Darwin Award.

Dear Sir,
I am writing in response to your request for additional information in Block 3 of the accident report form. I put 'poor planning' as the cause of my accident. You asked for a fuller explanation and I trust the following details will be sufficient.

I am a bricklayer by trade. On the day of the accident, I was working alone on the roof of a new six-story building. When I completed my work, I found that I had some bricks left over which, when weighed later were found to be slightly in excess of 500lbs.

Rather than carry the bricks down by hand, I decided to lower them in a barrel by using a pulley, which was attached to the side of the building on the sixth floor.

Securing the rope at ground I went up to the roof, swung the barrel out and loaded the bricks into it. Then I went down and untied the rope, holding it tightly to ensure a slow descent of the bricks. You will note in Block 11 of the accident report form that I weigh 135lbs. Due to my surprise at being jerked off the ground so suddenly, I lost my presence of mind and forgot to let go of the rope. Needless to say, I proceeded at a rapid rate up the side of the building.

In the vicinity of the third floor, I met the barrel, which was now proceeding downward at an equally impressive speed. This explained the fractured skull, minor abrasions and the broken collar bone, as listed in section 3 of the accident report form. Slowed only slightly, I continued my rapid ascent, not stopping until the fingers of my right hand were two knuckles deep into the pulley.

Fortunately by this time I had regained my presence of mind and was able to hold tightly to the rope, in spite of beginning to experience pain.
At approximately the same time, however, the barrel of bricks hit the ground and the bottom fell out of the barrel.

Now devoid of the weight of the bricks, that barrel weighed approximately 50 lbs. I refer you again to my weight. As you can imagine, I began a rapid descent, down the side of the building. In the vicinity of the third floor, I met the barrel coming up. This accounts for the two fractured ankles, broken tooth and several lacerations of my legs and lower body.

Here my luck began to change slightly. The encounter with the barrel seemed to slow me enough to lessen my injuries when I fell into the pile of bricks and fortunately only three vertebrae were cracked.

I am sorry to report, however, as I lay there on the pile of bricks,in pain, unable to move, I again lost my composure and presence of mind and

let go of the rope and I lay there watching the empty barrel begin its journey back down onto me. This explains the two broken legs.

I hope this answers your inquiry.

A video yes but related to the article above :-)

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry0prEzc-bU&NR=1

I quote the wikipedia mythbusters episode summary

Status = Plausible

Only by deliberately weakening the barrel and dropping it on a sharp edge were they able to get the barrel to drop its bricks.
But there was no evidence of the myth happening; the source of the myth appears to be a joke book!

Still funny either way! :-)

See the top right hand phot, where she is carrying the USS Cole. I've been onboard the USS Cole earlier this year. Is was awesome we did a boat transfer in a small rib, we had to climb down the side of our aircraft carrier on a rope ladder into this little rib bouncing aginst our hull. The rope ladder was about 40feet and overhanging due to the shape of our hull. Then we had a nice ride over the big waves in the Indian Ocean getting goffered (soaked by breaking waves over the bow) to the USS Cole. When we came onboard they started a live firing ex off the back of the ship, firing the M16 UGL (Underslung Grenade Launcher) off the back of the ship! Unfortunately I didnt get a go!
Its got a brass star in the deck by the mess hallfor each of the crewmen that was killed. The bomb went off by the dining hall at scrantime and thats why so many were killed. I have a USS Cole baseball cap given to me by one of their ensigns.
The accommodation and food onboard is nowhere near as good as on our ships though! We all brought our smart evening rig for dinner (in our waterproof bags) but they just stay in overalls all the time! And they have no ALCOHOL!!

I just got this letter in an email and it made me laugh :D

Dear Cooper,

I will like to solicit your help in a business proposition, which is by nature very confidential and a Top Secret. I
know that a transaction of this magnitude will make any one worried and apprehensive but I am assuring you
not to worry, as all will be well at the end of this endeavor.

I am Mr. Ade Daniel, Client Service Manager of Africa Sun Bank, Lagos Nigeria my partners and I have decided to
seek your help in transfer of some amount of money requiring maximum confidence from my bank. A foreigner,
Late Dr. Girard Cooper who was oil merchant and contractor with the Federal Government of Nigeria until he
died under a brief illness on the 26th of December 2003 he was a very good customer with Africa Sun Bank and
had a balance of US$32 million which the bank now expects his next of kin to claim as the beneficiary.

So far, valuable efforts has been made to get to his people but to no avail, as he had no known relatives more
because he left his next of kin column in his account opening forms blank and he has no known relatives . Due to
this development our management and the board of directors are making arrangements for the funds to be
declared unclaimed and paid into the federal government purse. Usually, funds of this nature end up in the
greedy pockets of some politicians due to our corrupt society.

To avert this negative development my colleagues and I have decided to look for a reputable person to act as
the next of kin to late Dr. Girard Cooper so that the funds could be processed and released into his account,
which is where you come in. We shall make arrangement with a qualified and reliable attorney that will
represent you in liaising with my bank for inconveniency of you coming to my country. All legal documents to
aid your claim for this fund and to prove your relationship with the deceased will be provided by us. Your help
will be appreciated with 20% of the total sum (US$6,400,000). Please accept my apologies, keep my confidence
and disregard this letter if you do not appreciate this proposition I have offered you. Thank you very much for
your time. I wait anxiously for your response.

Yours faithfully,

Ade Daniel

OKEY anotheer funny thing
This is the actual radio conversation of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October 1995. Radio conversation released by the chief of naval operations, 10-10-95.

CANADIANS: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.

AMERICANS: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the north to avoid a collision.

CANADIANS: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.

AMERICANS: This is the captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.

CANADIANS: No, I say again, you divert YOUR course.

AMERICANS: This is the Aircraft Carrier US LINCOLN, the second largest ship in the United States Atlantic Fleet. We are accompanied with three Destroyers, three Cruisers and numerous support vessels. I DEMAND that you change your course 15 degrees north. I say again, that's one-five degrees north, or counter-measures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship.

CANADIANS: This is a lighthouse. Your call.

Surely it'd be better to let the big bit of metal clamp on your arm then detach, so they can still escape but they need the fireman's key to get the block off :p Or just spray whoever sets it off in the face with blue dye. They really needed to think it through :p

"We need a new Mario game, where you rescue the princess in the first ten minutes, and for the rest of the game you try and push down that sick feeling in your stomach that she's "damaged goods", a concept detailed again and again in the profoundly sex negative instruction booklet, and when Luigi makes a crack about her and Bowser, you break his nose and immediately regret it. When Peach asks you, in the quiet of her mushroom castle bedroom "do you still love me?" you pretend to be asleep. You press the A button rhythmically, to control your breath, keep it even."

yes but the government is wasting my money on chav-breeders who will teach their kids that being unemployed is an honourable profession but that they have to have kids young to make the most of the benefit system. eventually they will be breeding so prolifically that they will be in the majority and the economy will go down the toilet under the weight of the public deficit...oh no wait...too late

Pilot humor
In case you need a laugh ...

Remember it takes a college degree to fly a plane but only a high school
  diploma to fix one.

Reassurance for those of us who fly routinely in their jobs.

After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe
sheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft.
The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form,
and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight.

Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor.

Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas' pilots
(marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.

By the way, Qantas is the only major airline that has never had an
 accident.

P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.

S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.

P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.

S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.

P: Something loose in cockpit.

S: Something tightened in cockpit.

P: Dead bugs on windshield.

S: Live bugs on back-order.

P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute
 descent.

S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.

P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.

S: Evidence removed.

P: DME volume unbelievably loud.

S: DME volume set to more believable level.

P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.

S: That's what they're for.

P: IFF inoperative.

S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.

P: Suspected crack in windshield.

S: Suspect you're right.

P: Number 3 engine missing.

S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.

P: Aircraft handles funny (I love this one!)

S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious.

P: Target radar hums.

S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.

P: Mouse in cockpit.

S: Cat installed.

And the best one for last ..................

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget
 pounding
 on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget

Engineers know that pilots
Those snag sheets exist, in the RN they are called Part 1's (They are part one in the book) here is an example http://www.jap100a-01.mod.uk/Jap(d)/PDFForms/707A.pdf (http://www.jap100a-01.mod.uk/Jap(d)/PDFForms/707A.pdf)

You've never been pissed off the a plug is big and scratchy? UK ones are soooo bulky. Though I prefer them to US/EU ones as they just look like they'll fall out the wall.

Even if you don't think you'd find it useful, you can appreciate how well it's designed surely.

It is awesome. Apparently, (although you all slate macs) iphoto on the mac has a similar technology which can automatically upload and tag people on facebook (once you've tagged them once).

I've never tried it but it sounds cool.

These jokes just got sent round work. I thought I'd post them here on the off chance that no one had heard them yet.

Quote
Boy comes home and tells his parents he has just had sex for he first time,  the proud Dad says 'I'll buy you a bike to celebrate, but you will have to wait until next pay day'  boy says 'that's alright Dad, my arse is too sore to ride it now anyway'

Bloke shagging his girlfriend says' Bend over  we'll try the social security position'   ' What the hell is that ?'  she says   ' When my balls touch your arse you're getting the full benefit'

Had my first Gig as a stand up comedian at an old people's home  last night. They didn't get any of my jokes but they still pissed themselves.

What is the medical term for the fatty tissue  surrounding the clitoris? ..........  The wife

Essex girl in bed with her boyfriend says, ' How dare you call me a slapper, get out of my bed right now ........... and take your fucking mates with you'

I was at Tesco this afternoon, when a lady dropped dead in front of me,  I felt really sorry for her - she had just bought a Bag for Life.

I'm quite worried what the kids are up to lately. Today saw a small girl imitating the doggy position  with her Barbie and Ken dolls, I said  ' you will have baby dolls if you do that' .  She said    'It's OK he's doing it up her arse'

Teacher says to little Tommy   'Why weren't you at school yesterday?'  Tommy says 'My grandfather got burnt'  Teacher says 'Badly?'   Little Tommy says ' Yes, they don't fuck about at the crematorium .  '

A friend of mine says he is shagging twins, I said ' How can you tell the difference?'  he said ' Her brother has got a moustache ?

Hubby has ' I love you' tatooed on his penis, and goes home to show his wife,  she says 'There you go again, trying to put words in my mouth'

A charity pantomime  in aid of  Paranoid Schizophrenic Homosexuals  descended into chaos  yesterday when somebody shouted     ' He's behind you !'

Bored on your way to work?  On the bus, tube or train?  Pretend you are on the phone, talk about your 4 week holiday in Mexico.  Hang up and then sneeze.

I found some to be crap as digital pics aren't the same size as film, thus the edges are cut off.  Or the photos end up tiny if they are in the correct aspect ratio.  I only use photobox to save with the hassel as they print at the right size.  If you want to try them I can refer you and I get free prints, you also get 50 (plus £1.49 ship) :)

how do you make the steam cannon reload?
Title: Re: Funny interweb articles
Post by: johnb on August 20, 2009, 12:36:07 PM
For the steam cannon, top pipe needs pressure to reload (has to be withdrawn afterwards) and bottom pipe fires (again, withdraw to be able to reload). Higher pressure on bottom pipe fires harder and stronger.
Title: Re: Funny interweb articles
Post by: Fat Alan on August 20, 2009, 01:02:28 PM
there is no top pipe! it's like the flame thrower and only has one pipe. it's the rifle that has two.. steam cannon says it reloads when pressure falls but when i switch the steam away it doesn't reload :(

ahhh i've got it - have to put vents in the release pressure and wait before it reloads...

Let us Consider a Spherical Horse in a Vacuum

    * A spherical horse has absolutely black body.
    * A spherical horse breathes ideal gas.
    * The neighing of a spherical horse is a simple harmonic and spreads without dispersion.
    * A spherical horse pastures in uniform fields.
    * When a spherical horse prances, its trajectory is parabolic.
    * The hooves of a spherical horse come into elastic collisions with a flat horizontal surface.
    * A spherical horse has a non-zero probability to get out of a potential well it has fallen into.
    * Mounting a spherical horse involves finding the saddle point. The resistance of the horse in this case is negligible.
    * Looking from an infinitely remote stand, a spherical horse appears as a point mass.

obviously.

A farmer has a problem getting his hens to lay eggs. He asked a scientist to help him out. Unfortunately he asked a physicist. The physicist reply was "I have a solution, but it only works for spherical chickens in a vacuum."

Haha! Are you kidding!?!? There are quite a few countries currently using reverse osmosis to create freshwater from seawater due to massive water shortages. The principle is good but surely using up a scarce natural resource is not the best way to go about this? A reverse osmosis machine that created electricity would be ideal.
Title: Re: Funny interweb articles

This isn't reverse osmosis, it's osmosis. This would work anywhere you have a river entering the sea. It's a technology that has great potential ;)

Rock Climbing in Guildford

The British Geological Survey have made available geological maps and photographs on their website.  I ran a search for pictures of Guildford and came up with this page:
http://geoscenic.bgs.ac.uk/asset-bank/action/search?cachedCriteria=1&sortAttributeId=0&sortDescending=false&page=0&pageSize=20

Photographs P212874, P212875 and P212876 show a chalk cliff near to where the railway line enters the tunnel to the south of the station.  The photographs were taken in 1981 and since then an ugly office block has been build where the car park was.  However, the cliff must still be there!

Next summer we should do some top roping on the cliff.  It will be as chossy as dried badger poo, but the it will be worth it for the novelty value of rock climbing in Guildford.  Send it!

stolen from another forum

Quote
Pocket Tazer Stun Gun, a great gift for the wife.

A guy who purchased his lovely wife a pocket Tazer for their anniversary submitted this:

Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest.

The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse- sized tazer.

The effects of the tazer were supposed to be short lived, with no long-term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety....??

WAY TOO COOL! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home. I loaded two AAA batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button.
Nothing! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button and pressed it against a metal surface at the same time, I'd get the blue arc of electricity darting back and forth between the
prongs.

AWESOME!!!

Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to Julie what that burn spot is on the face of her microwave.

Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking to myself that it couldn't be all that bad with only two AAA batteries, right?

There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie looking on intently (trusting little soul) while I was reading the directions and thinking that I really needed to try this thing out on a flesh & blood moving target.

I must admit I thought about zapping Gracie (for a fraction of a second) and then thought better of it. She is such a sweet cat. But, if I was going to give this thing to my wife to protect herself against a mugger, I did want some assurance that it would work as advertised. Am I wrong?

So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top with my reading glasses perched delicately on the bridge of my nose, directions in one hand, and tazer in another.

The directions said that a one-second burst would shock and disorient your assailant; a two-second burst was supposed to cause muscle spasms
and a major loss of bodily control; and a three-second burst would purportedly make your assailant flop on the ground like a fish out of
water. Any burst longer than three seconds would be wasting the batteries.

All the while I'm looking at this little device measuring about 5" long, less than 3/4 inch in circumference (loaded with two itsy, bitsy
AAA batteries); pretty cute really, and thinking to myself, 'No possible way!'

What happened next is almost beyond description, but I'll do my best ..

I'm sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with her head cocked to one side so as to say, 'Don't do it stupid,' reasoning that a one second burst from such a tiny lil ole thing couldn't hurt all that bad. I
decided to give myself a one second burst just for heck of it. I touched the prongs to my naked thigh, pushed the button, and ...

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD .. . WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION . . . WHAT THE ...!!!

I'm pretty sure Hulk Hogan ran in through the side door, picked me up in the recliner, then body slammed us both on the carpet, over and over and over again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the fetal position, with tears in my eyes, body soaking wet, both nipples on fire, testicles nowhere to be found, with my left arm tucked under my body in the oddest position, and tingling in my legs!

The cat was making meowing sounds I had never heard before, clinging to a picture frame hanging above the fireplace, obviously in an attempt to avoid getting slammed by my body flopping all over the living room.

Note: If you ever feel compelled to 'mug' yourself with a tazer, one note of caution: there is NO such thing as a one second burst when you zap yourself! You will not let go of that thing until it is dislodged from your hand by a violent thrashing about on the floor! A three second burst would be considered conservative!

A minute or so later (I can't be sure, as time was a relative thing at that point), I collected my wits (what little I had left), sat up and surveyed the landscape.

My bent reading glasses were on the mantel of the fireplace. The recliner was upside down and about 8 feet or so from where it originally was. My triceps, right thigh and both nipples were still
twitching. My face felt like it had been shot up with Novocain, and my bottom lip weighed 88 lbs. I had no control over the drooling.

Apparently I had crapped in my shorts, but was too numb to know for sure, and my sense of smell was gone. I saw a faint smoke cloud above
my head, which I believe came from my hair. I'm still looking for my testicles and I'm offering a significant reward for their safe return!

P.S... My wife can't stop laughing about my experience, loved the gift and now regularly threatens me with it!

If you think education is difficult, try being stupid !!!

ONLY A MAN WOULD ATTEMPT THIS!

Reminds me of a American company that contacted my dad about producing their cookies in the uk with the company name Otis Spunkmeyer and tag line 'Oh .... so good!'

They didn't understand why my dad suggested they change the brand name :-)

Still they were sold in weatherspoons for a while.

Found this on facebook :)

26 Ways to Impress a Girl

    1. When she asks how she looks shrug and say "could be better" this will keep her on her toes, and girls love that.

    2. Never hold her hand. This can be interpreted as a sign of weakness (or if she grabs your hand squeeze hers really really hard until she cries. This will impress her by showing her what a strong man you are).

    3. Once a month sneak up on her from behind and knock her over. Girls are like dogs; they love to be roughed up.

    4. Call her in the middle of the night to ask if she's sleeping. If she is say you say "you better be". Repeat this 4 or 5 times until morning. This will show her you care.

    5. When she is upset about something, suggest to her that it might be her fault. This will pave the way for her own personal improvement, and every girl needs some improvement.

    6. Recognize the small things . . . they usually mean the most. Then, when she's sleeping, steal all her small things and break them. Because jewelry is for pussies and asian ladies.

    7. If you're talking to another girl, make sure she's looking. When she is, stare into her eyes, mouth the words @#%$ you, and grab the other girls ass. Girls love competition.

    8. Tell her you're taking her out to dinner. Drive for miles so she thinks it's going to be really special. Then, take her to a burning tire yard. When she starts to get upset tell her you were just kidding and now you're really going to take her to dinner. Then, drive her home. When she starts crying and asks why you would do something like that lean over and whisper very quietly into her ear "...because i can."

    9. Introduce her to your friends as "some chick". Women love those special nicknames.

    10. Play with her hair. Play with it HARD.

    11. Warm her up when she's cold...and not by giving her your jacket... then you might get cold. Rather, look her in the eye and say "if you don't stop bitching about the cold right now you're going to be bitching about a black eye". The best way to get warm is with fear.

    12. Take her to a party. When you get there she'll have to go to the bathroom (they always do). Leave immediately. Come back right when the partys dying and yell at her the whole way home for ditching you at the party.

    13. Make her laugh. A good way to do this is if she has a small pet. Kick the pet. I always find stuff like that funny. Why shouldn't girls?

    14. Let her fall asleep in your arms. When she's fast asleep, wait 10 minutes then JUMP UP AND SCREAM IN HER EAR! Repeat until she goes home and you can use your arms for more important things. Like basketball or waterpolo.

    15. Spit often. I hear girls like guys that spit.

    16. if you care about her, never ever tell her. This will only give her self confidence. Then you can never turn her into the object she deep down desires to be.

    17. Every time you're in her house steal one of the following: shoes, earrings, or anything else that comes in pairs. Only take one of the pair. This way she'll go crazy.

    18. Take her out to dinner. Right when shes about to order interrupt and say "no she's not hungry". Make her watch you eat. Girls love a guy that speaks for her.

    19. Look her in the eyes and smile. Then clock her one to the face. Girls love a spontaneous guy.

    20. Give her one of your t-shirts......and make sure it has your smell on it. But not a sexy cologne smell. A bad smell. You know what i'm talking about.

    21. When its raining keep asking her if she's crying. She'll say no it's just the rain. Ten minutes later, turn to her and just scream at her to stop crying you @#%$ baby. Girls like a tough man as i've already stated.

    22. Titty twisters, and plenty of them.

    23. If you're listening to music, and she asks to hear it, tell her no. this way she'll think you're mysterious.

    24. Remember her birthday but don't get her something. Teach her material objects aren't important. The only thing thats important is that she keeps you happy. And your happiness is the greatest present she can ever get.

    25. When she gives you a present on your birthday, Christmas or just
whenever, take it and tell her you love it. Then, next time you know
she's coming over on a trash day, leave the trash can open and have the
present visibly sticking out of the can. Girls actually don't like this one
that much, but I think it's funny.

    26. If she's mad at you for not calling her when you say you will,
promise her that you will call her at a certain time of the day. This will
make sure that she waits by the phone. Tell her when you call that you're
going to tell her a special surprise. Now she'll be really excited. Don't
    call.

I think the idea of the test is to highlight symptoms to people, so that you know 'drugs are bad kids'. Therefore getting a low score is prob quite a good thing!

Another facebook group one. Not sure if it's true but it's still funny :D

Quote
The following is an actual question given on a University chemistry final exam.

The answer by one student was so “profound” that the professor shared it with colleagues via the Internet, which is why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well.

Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle’s Law that gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let’s look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that, if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell.

Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell. Because Boyle’s Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay constant, the volume of Hell must expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Sandra during my freshman year, that “it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,” and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is endothermic and has already frozen over.

The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is extinct…leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being - which explains why, last night, Sandra kept shouting “Oh God!”

or someone put the cat's head in the can then drop it off just outside the centre

That's what i was thinking, probably someone that didn't want to pay vets bills to have the can removed.

Somehow seems more likely!

Is it wrong that I want to point out that due to the black thing extruding from the end it is probably more likely to be a vibrator than a dildo. The difference is subtle, but defined.

Title: Re: Funny interweb articles
Post by: Choad on March 12, 2010, 01:14:34 PM
There is a marked difference between ignoring the obvious and using sarcasm. Similarly, a vibrator in this context is an electrically powered device which vibrates with the aim of aiding the pursuit of sexual pleasure, whilst a dildo is any object resembling an erect penis to be used for sexual gratification. Thus one must conclude that the object appearing in the aforementioned photo of interest is indeed a vibrator AND a dildo.

But, a monitor has square pixels, and a HDTV has rectangular pixels. So you would get some rescaling errors if you watch on a monitor.

Silly legacy reasons.

New Age terrorists develop homeopathic bomb

The world has been placed on a heightened security alert following reports that New Age terrorists have harnessed the power of homeopathy for evil. ‘Homeopathic weapons represent a major threat to world peace,’ said President Barack Obama, ‘they might not cause any actual damage but the placebo effect could be quite devastating.’

The H2O-bomb has been developed by the radical New Age group, The Axis of Aquarius. In a taped message to the world, their leader, Professor Hubert Pennington, said: ‘For too long the New Age movement has been dismissed as a bunch of beardy weirdy cranks and charlatans. But now we have weapons-grade homeopathy and we demand to be taken seriously.’

Homeopathic bombs are comprised of 99.9% water but contain the merest trace element of explosive. The solution is then repeatedly diluted so as to leave only the memory of the explosive in the water molecules. According to the laws of homeopathy, the more that the water is diluted, the more powerful the bomb becomes.

‘It was only a matter of time before these people got hold of the material that they needed to make these bombs,’ said former UN weapons inspector, Hans Blix, ‘The world is a much more dangerous place with the advent of these Weapons of Mass Dilution.’

‘A homeopathic attack could bring entire cities to a standstill,’ said BBC Security Correspondent, Frank Gardner, ‘Large numbers of people could easily become convinced that they have been killed and hospitals would be unable to cope with the massive influx of the ‘walking suggestible’.’

The severity of the situation has already resulted in the New Age terror threat level being raised from ‘lilac’ to the more worrisome ‘purple’ aura. Meanwhile, new security measures at airports require that all water bottles be scanned to ensure that they are not being used to smuggle the memory of an explosion on board a plane.

‘Homeopathic weapons are the ultimate Smart Bombs,’ warned President Obama, ‘They are so smart that they only affect the gullible. The only defence is for everyone to remain calm, vigilant and to always wear a magic vibrating crystal.’

Got this at work, made me smile

Irish Bailout..........

It is a slow day in a damp little Irish town.

The rain is beating down and the streets are deserted. Times are tough,

everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit. On this particular day

a rich German tourist is driving through the town, stops at the local hotel

and lays a €100 note on the desk, telling the hotel owner he wants to

inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one to spend the night. The

owner gives him some keys and, as soon as the visitor has walked upstairs,

the hotelier grabs the €100 note and runs next door to pay his debt to the

butcher. The butcher takes the €100 note and runs down the street to repay

his debt to the pig farmer. The pig farmer takes the €100 note and heads

off to pay his bill at the supplier of feed and fuel. The guy at the

Farmers' Co-op takes the €100 note and runs to pay his drinks bill at the

pub. The publican slips the money along to the local prostitute drinking at

the bar, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer him

"services" on credit. The hooker then rushes to the hotel and pays off her

room bill to the hotel owner with the €100 note. The hotel proprietor then

places the €100 note back on the counter so the rich traveller will not

suspect anything. At that moment the traveller comes down the stairs, picks

up the €100 note, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, pockets the

money, and leaves town. No one produced anything. No one earned anything.

However, the whole town is now out of debt and looking to the future with a

lot more optimism.

And that,

Ladies and Gentlemen, is how the bailout package works

1. Bicycles don’t get pregnant.
2. You can ride your bicycle any time of the month.
3. Bicycles don’t have parents.
4. Bicycles don’t whine unless something is really wrong.
5. You can share your bicycles with your friends.
6. Bicycles don’t care how many other bicycles you’ve ridden.
7. When riding, you and your bicycle can arrive at the same time.
8. Bicycles don’t care how many other bicycles you have now.
9. Bicycles don’t care if you look at other bicycles.
10. Bicycles don’t care if you buy bicycle magazines.
11. You’ll never hear, “Suprise, you’re going to own a new bicycle” unless you go out and buy one yourself.
12. If your bicycle goes flat, you can fix it.
13. If your bicycle is too loose, you can tighten it.
14. If your bicycle gets misaligned, you don’t have to discuss politics with it.
15. You can have a black bicycle and bring it home to your parents.
16. You don’t have to be jealous of the guy who works on your bicycle.
17. If you say bad things to your bicycle, you don’t have to apologize before you ride it again.
18. You can ride your bicycle as long as you want and it wont get sore.
19. You can stop riding your bicycle as soon as you want and it wont get frustrated.
20. Your parents wont remain in touch with your old bicycle after you dump it.
21. Bicycles don’t get headaches.
22. Bicycles don’t insult you if you’re a bad rider.
23. Your bicycle never wants a night out with other bicycles.
24. Bicycles don’t care if you’re late.
25. You don’t have to take a shower before you ride your bicycle.
26. If your bicycle doesn’t look good, you can paint it or get better parts.
27. You can ride your bicycle the first time you meet it without having to take it to dinner, see a movie, or meet its mother.
28. The only protection you need to wear when riding your bicycle is a decent helment.
29. When in mixed company, you can talk about what a great ride you had the last time you were on your bicycle.
