It was when she was replacing my gear! (And then kicking me in the face)

Actually, the almost kicking you in the face was your fault too for twisting the ropes so horrendously they almost knotted at the top!

It's not really a coat, it's like a lightweight jacket. But it got somewhat attacked by the green on the rock over the weekend.

And Weeman - it was perfect. Kept the wind off and kept me warm, which is a major achievement as I get cold very easily. But definitely did what it was meant to. I've got quite a few things from Mountain Warehouse - it's not as bad as it seems.

Also depends if it has a waterproof membrane in it like some of the expensive ones do

Yeah it's from Mountain Warehouse, so I doubt it.

But cool, thanks.

Climbing Talk / Softshell questions

Bit of a lame question but I recently bought a softshell and wore it for the first time this weekend. Those of you who have them - do you wash them/reproof them like they recommend? Will it all go horribly wrong if I just stick it in a wash/tumble dry with the rest of my stuff?

Update to first post - dress code is informal but xmas themed! :-)

That completely ruins my outfit plans :P

Silly question - I'm assuming we pay for drinks separately?

It's a Dell. I can see what's happened - the left side of the scissor thingy (I assume), it crossed over the wrong way, so it's no longer providing the balance.

I've managed to push it back in so it at least works now.... it's just lopsided and stiff. Hmmm.

Somehow my 'one' key has broken - is there a straightforward way that I can fix it, or will it need to be done by a professional?
It's somehow been knocked and come loose, so it's only really attached by the top edge. Any ideas?
