i would have said the same (and did when i first tried this out) but...

these arnt child boards they're sub forums - therefore new posts and latest post info are visiable on the first page and you can get back easily - i agree the new union BB sucks - but look closely this one it is very different - ergo better - i hope!

Fear not if it is hated it can easily be changed back.

I just wanted to seperate things a bit more - as i never read anything now because its mostly crap - hopefully the new design will allow decent info to be seperate from the random stuff!

Ok agreed the subforums can be confusing but then loads of forums on their own looks cluttered. I think it looks best if you click on the

'University of Surrey Mountaineering Club' just below the dark blue banner then you go here... (i've edited the front page to take you here anyway)

don't know how much effort it would be but perhaps a page that shows a list of all threads that have new msgs would be handy - save on jumping between forums? good plan trying to seperate nonsense from trip info - just hope ppl actually use it...
