yeah, climbing is definately my backup option for when there's no rain (and for when I blindly paddle into box canynons and realise that I can't paddle out again).

defintaly my second choice, all depends on the weather as said above but i do enjoy climbing im sorry paddling takes major 1st place

have you ever tried padding with a lead rack? or climbing with a canoe? i'd say it matters a lot!

what you can do is go down a white water river find a gorge, then an eddie tie your canoe onto the rocks climb up then pull your canoe up, think it should be an option for maybe a joint trip etc

I've had to belay a canoe as it down climbed a 90m scree slope this summer.


Come to think of it, I climbed up there with it in the first place, wearing a spraydeck.

I only use the cleverest canoes.

Sliding down that slope would have been fun, but would have involved death.  One guy almost terminated himself just climbing down.

finally paddlers realising climbing is better than sitting in a piece of plastic....

climbing and kayaking are totally different sports so one cant really argue which is better, there both great!

well saying that i would go canoeing if it was raining well i possibly lied a little as i was at bowles today and it rained lots and lots, but was fun!!!
