Hardware Component Failure
« on: December 08, 2013, 10:21:35 PM »
(another question!)

I've got a Dell Inspiron 1545, approximately 6 years old.
Recently ran a Dell Hardware check scan, and it came up with a 'critical' hardware component failure saying I need to replace the hard drive. It's running fairly fine (a little slow at times) - is this really really bad? Is it easily fixed without replacing the hard drive? Or should I just get a new computer?

Rather concerned!

Sounds like the hard drive might be on the way out so make sure you have important files backed up elsewhere. You can replace the hard drive when it does go for less than 50.

No its much easier;

1. Find Matt
2. Cry at him until he agrees to fix it
3. Maybe buy him a pint next time you're in the pub to say thanks

And as we all know the computer shop was just a front for a drugs enterprise. So if you're lucky you'll get computer fixed and some cocaine thrown in cheap ;)

When I looked at replacing the hard drive everything I found was 150+ ?!
