It's a 9 seater transit. It has a cage in the back for all the shit. A little bit less space than the big split van, but enough for 9 people's crap.

Could anyone coming with us who is allowed to drive union buses (even if at this stage you're coming by car as I want contingency and flexibility) please message me with their full name and address as listed on their driving license. Otherwise you can't drive the bus en francais.

Also this might be a good time to update the union with any change of address or insurance claims, but I'll leave that up to you.

I can't decide if this van idea is a good one. I was thinking about last time I went and I think I got back to the campsite after dinner almost every night. I'm a bit concerned that I'll end up with 6 angry ppl waiting for me in a car park at the end of every day!

I have no preference either way, as long as you all decide quickly.

I'm all booked off for the week and the Friday before.
I probably won't be going big all the time, but that said excepting my fair share of any driving, as long as there's space in the bus for me to take some stubbies with me to keep me occupied I don't mind later evenings

I'm going to order some maps of the area for the club. Can anyone who's been before recommend the area we're likely to stick to from the link below? I'm guessing just the one that encompasses Ax les Thermes and Orlu? Alan?

Have a look through the rockfax guidebook (if you don't have one buy the club a few copies, it'll be well worth it), the last chapter is about good mountain walks, and it says which maps each walk appears on.

i've been thinking about it and i reckon it will actually be better to have 2 cars.

i'd like to be doing long routes pretty much all the time and finding 8 ppl for an early start and late finish every day is going to be tricky. also it's a 60-90 minute round trip to the crag so i don't think shuttle runs will be too popular either.

On another topic. Make sure you've bought BMC insurance.

And BMC membership is not the same as BMC insurance.

brian, tash and windle

We're booked on the tunnel leaving 20.50 on Friday 20th and returning 20.50 on Saturday 28th. Check in closes 30mins before departure and if we're early/late they'll bump us to a train with space.
This means we should get to Font about 1am, we can bivvy there for the night and then have a climb in the morning before we drive south :)

everyone ok with that? if not, now would be a good time to speak up!

Sounds good to me! I'm about to fly out to Croatia for a week so I won't be able to check on here really until next week.
