brian, tash and windle

We're booked on the tunnel leaving 20.50 on Friday 20th and returning 20.50 on Saturday 28th. Check in closes 30mins before departure and if we're early/late they'll bump us to a train with space.
This means we should get to Font about 1am, we can bivvy there for the night and then have a climb in the morning before we drive south :)

everyone ok with that? if not, now would be a good time to speak up!
Sounds good. I should probably buy a bivvy bag...

just a reminder that we're going to france in two weeks!

you need to get insurance and check your climbing shoes are in good nick :D

Brian, tash and windle,
have you all got insurance and bivy stuff? we're going to be arriving in orlu the night before the club so we'll need to sort out our own food for a couple of days. we could go to a supermarket on the way but it might be easier to just take food with us to avoid unnecessary faff on the journey. thoughts?

I best pull my finger out my arse and make some new banging CDs for the drive!

Of course including the obligatory French song for emerging from the tunnel...

You should use this classic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3Kvu6Kgp88

Or France's Eurovision entry this year which came last and Knobson likes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWJFfnHNOWI

No, I don't have bivvy stuff :( I can probably grab a survival bag and survive for the night (though that would be bright orange - are we trying to be discreet?)... or just crawl into my coffin tent (with or without actually pitching it) which is pretty much a bivvy bag.

As for food, I'm pretty easy. I won't have anything more than my penny stove, but I can pack some nice filthy cans and heat them up on that.

EDIT: Looks like I can probably get a bivi bag in time too. Having never slept in a car-park in font before - should I get a bag or wrap myself in a tent? My only reluctance on the bivi bag front is having to carry it from Cambridge!

when i've bivvied in there before it was warm and dry. i imagine it might be a slightly different experience if there was a storm - then you might want a bivy bag to keep you dry.

The club will have a Rockfax but this website also has quite a few topo's. I'm going to print some off I think.

i'm pretty sure the club bought a few local guides when we were there before. There's a shop in ax that sells them.

having had a read of the rockfax guide tho i don't think i'll run out of big routes in a week  :D
