Title: Lessons learned from Splosh 2012
Post by: RichardN on February 13, 2013, 11:07:10 PM
Bieber, Michael, and I were procrastinating (shock horror)

We came up with a list of things to remember for this years Splosh.

#17 is incorrect and #16 is quitter's talk.

Also if you break West's law and the forecast and is bad then you can be excused as long as you look at more forecasts until you find one that predicts sun, as once it's been discovered this forecast will be true. (as proven by Tiffany in Dartmoor)

We also learnt that when Dave says "the waves won't get your belayer, just scare him a bit" he is in fact lying.

I'd like to add some more

19. Have an escape route from your tent planned in advance for when Bob throws up in it so you don't spend 10 mins trying to get out
20. Repeat item 4
21. The best tent spot is outside the pub door (may no longer be applicable to current years as we've moved)
22. Repeat item 20.
23. Dr Danger should be fed mead every year
24. Tea shop by Bozzie should be visited daily for a cream tea to keep you full - no need to eat anything else.
25. 20ps are worth more and are quite rare in Cornwall, especially when you want a shower

Especially as in the words of Dave West the lady in there "yeah she's doing alright for herself"
