Hi Guys!
The more observant among you might have noticed the new link at the top there -
http://www.surreyclimbs.co.uk/wikiMatt and myself have been doing some work getting some content on there, and I think its got to the point where it's at least a little bit useful.
There's a lot of content which isn't linked from the front page (You need to look at the full list under "Special Pages"), some of it should probably stay hidden, some of it definitely needs to be linked to it just needs a table or something on the homepage.
We need your help!The whole point of a wiki is that anyone can edit it, that means
you! If anyone feels they want to contribute, crack on. I certainly can't write it all myself, and though Matt isn't
really busy, I'm sure he'd like some help
How do I help?Anyone who was registered on the forum as a 'Member' (i.e you had access to the members only section) when I set the wiki up (a couple of months ago) already has an account.
You need to use your normal forum username, and click the forgotten password link to gain access.
Writing wiki code isn't very complicated at all, you definitely don't need to be a programmer/computer fiend.
The mediawiki site has really good documentation to help get you started:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Contents#EditingA quick example:
I want to start a new page called Page XYou need to go to the Wiki, and log in.
Then go to
wiki/index.php/Page_X, the wiki will tell you it doesn't exist, so click Create at the top.
...then start writing your page!
==This is a Heading==
This is some text
===This is a sub heading===
Some more text
====Even smaller heading====
*With a bulleted list
**With a subitem
*And another item
*and another
Hope this wasn't too much of an essay. Feedback appreciated.
tl, dr: We have a wiki, you should add to it.
