Survey thingy for coursework.
« on: April 16, 2008, 11:11:23 AM »
Thought I might as well be cheeky as these needs to be done by someone and everyone here is lovely (you're meant to be between 18 & 30 too, but I don't care too much Blondie), if you've got about 5 mins could you answer the questions below....it might be best if you PM me you answers, as the answers should be kept anonymous by me, and you won't be identified in the 'study' (yes I took the phycology type course).

1. Do you use internet radio?
2. Do you have access to a wireless internet connection?
3. Do you have an MP3 player what make model (if you can find it)?
4. If you have one are there any features of your existing MP3 player you like/dislike?
5.Do you think a large screen is needed for an MP3 player? What size?
6. How much storage do you require for your music collection / for day to day use of an MP3 player?
7. Would you like to see more connectivity between your device and other devices (car/speakers)?
8. Do you use iTunes?
9. Do you like it? What features do you use?
10. Do you have a television?
11. How many different rooms do you listen to music in?
12. Would you like to be able to listen to music in more rooms?
13. Do you use surround sound?
14. What format do you use MP3s/CDs?

Thankies.

1. Do you use internet radio?
Very infrequently.
2. Do you have access to a wireless internet connection?
Yes, to lots of them.
3. Do you have an MP3 player what make model (if you can find it)?
I do, its a sony and I cant find it (8G that will play movies too)
4. If you have one are there any features of your existing MP3 player you like/dislike?
It shows a clock randomly while playing and i would like to turn that off to save battery (bring up a backlight every 10-15s)
5.Do you think a large screen is needed for an MP3 player? What size?
No, 1" square is enough if the interface is well designed.
6. How much storage do you require for your music collection / for day to day use of an MP3 player?
Music collection is 100GB+ but for an MP3 player 4G seems to be enough to cover most of what id like at random
7. Would you like to see more connectivity between your device and other devices (car/speakers)?
Id like to be able to use and charge it in my car (I think this is possible but im too poor to look into atm)
8. Do you use iTunes?
Never!
9. Do you like it? What features do you use?
I dont
10. Do you have a television?
I tihnk I have 4 and a TV card in my PC at the last count
11. How many different rooms do you listen to music in?
All of them pritty much (not so much in the bathroom)
12. Would you like to be able to listen to music in more rooms?
Id have to build more rooms...
13. Do you use surround sound?
Yes on my PC and on my TV
14. What format do you use MP3s/CDs?
Mainly MP3s but I do like to own CDs and rip them rather than buy MP3s

If I don't have access to my CDs/Laptop

Yes, At home, and at uni

3. Do you have an MP3 player what make model (if you can find it)?
Sony HD5 20gb

4. If you have one are there any features of your existing MP3 player you like/dislike?
The fact I have to hit it to make it work. Best feature = line out output rather than just headphone.

5.Do you think a large screen is needed for an MP3 player? What size?
Big enough so that I can see what it is playing, It lives in my pocket so small enough to not get broken.

6. How much storage do you require for your music collection / for day to day use of an MP3 player?
I have about 15gb on there, and don't really want to delete any.

7. Would you like to see more connectivity between your device and other devices (car/speakers)?
Yes.

8. Do you use iTunes?
No, as I realised it was rubbish.

9. Do you like it? What features do you use?

10. Do you have a television?
Yes
11. How many different rooms do you listen to music in?
One.

12. Would you like to be able to listen to music in more rooms?
Not really, I have my MP3 player if needed.

13. Do you use surround sound?
No.

14. What format do you use MP3s/CDs?

1. Do you use internet radio?
Yes

2. Do you have access to a wireless internet connection?
Yes

3. Do you have an MP3 player what make model (if you can find it)?
Yes.  Sony Flash Walkman NW-E005

4. If you have one are there any features of your existing MP3 player you like/dislike?
Its small and works

5.Do you think a large screen is needed for an MP3 player? What size?
No, I just need to be able to read the track name

6. How much storage do you require for your music collection / for day to day use of an MP3 player?
10Gb

7. Would you like to see more connectivity between your device and other devices (car/speakers)?
Yes, car speaker compatibility is a useful

8. Do you use iTunes?
NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

9. Do you like it? What features do you use?
"It" is one of my favourite words in the English language.  I would even go so far as to rate it as highly as old favourites such as "him" and "her".  In terms of features, I mostly use the word to construct sentence eg: "Life is a roller-coaster, you just have to ride it"

10. Do you have a television?
Yes

11. How many different rooms do you listen to music in?
Three

12. Would you like to be able to listen to music in more rooms?
No

13. Do you use surround sound?
I use it all the time.  It helps me identify where sounds are coming from, eg I can here that the muffled cries for help from the hooker I abducted last night are still coming from my wardrobe behind me.

14. What format do you use MP3s/CDs?
A digital audio encoding format using a form of lossy data compression

Don't start the geeks down that road Vix. I'm sure there are lots of silly little reasons why some other thing is better.  :P

I don't find it any better or worse than Windows Media Player, they both let me find the music on my hard drive that I want to listen to

Interesting fact:
There was no Winamp version 4 (version numbers went 1, 2, 3, 5).  This was because nobody would want a Winamp 4 skin.

Anyway nick, you cock breath arse biscuit, Winamp has supported iPods since version 5.2.  So put that in your pipe and smoke it you filthy slag.

but does it include a easy way to destroy your media library if you dont know what you're doing, or the ability to rip cds into an unreadable format by anything other than itself, or the frontdoor to the worlds shittest online shop, and an interface that often crashes, and a large footprint on your system, and... and..
