Lessons learned from Splosh 2012
« on: February 13, 2013, 11:07:10 PM »
Bieber, Michael, and I were procrastinating (shock horror)

We came up with a list of things to remember for this years Splosh.
  • Skateboarding drunk is never a good idea
  • There aren't many police cars in rural cornwall but the night a group of pissed students take a road cone they will drive past
  • The correct answer when asked which half of a mermaid you'd want to be female is " bottom half"
  • Weather forecasts are banned until the day after which they refer to (Aka West's Law)
  • Pouring so co on your sleeping bag != Sleeping in comfort
  • When the easter bunny visits, don't sleep on top of the creme egg
  • Kilian is eternally gay of the day
  • Beer doesn't improve your performance in darts
  • Small cornish children are vicious, especially if you are called Windle
  • You WILL play with the camp-site dog
  • Some meadery photos should never be viewed by those with a weak stomach
  • Liquour mead is the way to go, FACT
  • Walks in the rain provide the correct amount of fun - because you can't have too much fun
  • If you throw up outside your tent, put a road cone over it
  • If you want to see Dave angry, abseil down on top of him
  • as amazing as the idea of Farenheit after a 6 hour drive home seems, it isn't going to happen
  • Just because you can fit in a fisher-price car doesn't mean you should
  • when Dave says "the waves won't get your belayer, just scare him a bit" he is in fact lying
  • Have an escape route from your tent planned in advance for when Bob throws up in it so you don't spend 10 mins trying to get out
  • Repeat item 4
  • The best tent spot is outside the pub door (may no longer be applicable to current years as we've moved
  • Repeat item 20.
  • Dr Danger should be fed mead every year
  • Tea shop by Bozzie should be visited daily for a cream tea to keep you full - no need to eat anything else.
  • 20ps are worth more and are quite rare in Cornwall, especially when you want a shower
  • there are outdoor shops in Penzance incase of gale force winds and tent death

#17 is incorrect and #16 is quitter's talk.

Also if you break West's law and the forecast and is bad then you can be excused as long as you look at more forecasts until you find one that predicts sun, as once it's been discovered this forecast will be true. (as proven by Tiffany in Dartmoor)

We also learnt that when Dave says "the waves won't get your belayer, just scare him a bit" he is in fact lying.

Are you secretly recording/stalking me Nash as I feel you remember far too many things i've said or done.

If you want to see Dave REALLY angry then order him a coffee in a tea shop.
Many donkeys have tried to match wits with me, but almost all have failed.
