Anyone fancy a week climbing some nice big multipitch routes sometime in July/August?
I was thinking of maybe flying to the dolomites but open to suggestions..

Trad, sport or aid?

Would be interested but like Matt, July/Aug is pushing it. September would be better

I could be tempted. July/August works for me since I'm away in september anyway.

We will need to discuss this. We will need beer for this!

Come to Sydney there is loads of big long multi-pitch routes here. Trad sport and aid.

I plan to get on these routes soon:

And there is plenty more like that!

Location: Don't mind
Transport: Fly & car hire
Rock: Don't mind
Route type: Sport and Via ferrata. Don't mind if there is trad or not. It might be easier not to take trad gear if we are flying...

you'll want some trad gear for the bolted routes -  big routes in europe tend to have some big run outs.. but if we opted for bolted stuff then we'd only need a minimal rack which would be a bit less to pack.

I'm pretty easy on location, the Dolomites is good. I have been there before so would be open to new exciting places but I'm not going to cry too much if we go back.

First week in August works for me however I'm busy on saturday so would prefer to leave sunday or saturday night if possible.

i'm open to suggestion on other places.
eve recommended Orpierre which looked great but gabby's been there before (with eve as it turns out)
dave suggested morrocco but that's all trad and sounded like it would be more of a logistical mission
i'd wondered about verdon but don't have a guide to hand
then i took a look at nick's dolomites guide and got a bit excited ;)

Yes, I've been to Orpierre but only for a couple of days in which time I didn't dent the 300 + routes too badly. I'd love to go again if others do. There looks to be good via ferrata too:

Just before I book the time off, first week in august is 5th - 11th?

Work wise - It looks like its better for me to take time off later in August. My preference for August dates are:

Week begining 5th - Third choice
Week begining 12th - Second choice
Week begining 19th - First choice
